He was a poet of truth, that's what Jim tells us in this book.

About the Author
Sri Daya Mata (1914 - 2010) was the foremost disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. A true "Mother of Compassion," as her name signified, she inspired those of all faiths and from all walks of life with the wisdom and great love of God conveyed through her talks, writings, and recordings. Referring to her first volume of spiritual counsel, Only Love, the former Ambassador of India to the United States, N. A. Palkhivala, wrote: "Sri Daya Mata personifies love and compassion and the other timeless values of Indian culture...Her speeches are not dry academic dissertations on abstract theological principles, but intensely personal hymns testifying to her ecastatic vision of the Creator."

Born Faye Wright on January 31, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Daya Mata met Paramahansa Yogananda at the age of seventeen when she attended a lecture series he was giving in her hometown. Upon hearing him speak, she inwardly thought: "This man loves God as I have always longed to love Him. He knows God. Him I shall follow." Not long afterward, she entered his ashram in Los Angeles as a nun of the Self-Realization Order. During more than two decades of day-to-day association with Yogananda, Daya Mata served as his confidential secretary; and over the years he entrusted her with increasing spiritual and administrative responsibilities. From the beginning it was evident that he had singled her out for a special role. He later told her that he had given to her the same intense spiritual discipline that his guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar, had given to him - a significant remark, since she was to inherit the spiritual and organizational mantle that Sri Yukteswar had bestowed on him.

As Paramahansa Yogananda's spiritual successor, Sri Daya Mata guided his society for more than half a century, faithfully carrying out his wishes and ideals for the dissemination of his teachings worldwide and for the establishment of Self-Realzation Fellowship temples, centers, and retreats. In 1955, succeeding the late, saintly Rajarsi Janakananda, Sri Daya Mata became president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society - the first woman to head a worldwide spiritual organization, a role she fulfilled until her passing in 2010. She made several global speaking tours, including extended visits to India. Under her leadership, the pioneering spiritual work of Paramahansa Yogananda flourished, both in his native land and around the world. Two other books by Daya Mata have been published: Only Love: Living the Spiritual Life in a Changing World, and Enter The Quiet Heart: Creating a Loving Relationship with God. Many of her talks are also available on audio CD, and DVD.

THE Book to banish fear, deepen love, and find "IT"

What a pity it is that this book is not better known.

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to spirituality, this is THE book.

Whether or not you choose to take the word "god" literally, Sri Daya Mata knew it was LOVE of something greater than oneself that was the fast, royal highway to happiness, security, and peace.

To me, a good foundation for spirituality begins with Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now.

When -- or if -- you want go deeper, look no further than this INCREDIBLE book, with its INTENSE wisdom, inclusive treatment (Hindu? Christian? Anything else? All are welcome!), and strong, deep, abiding, intense love.

I have read SO many books on spirituality.

None goes deeper, more quickly, with practical applications in daily life, than this one.

What I learned!

This is one of the books that I truly treasure. Daya Mata gives specific and easy to understand answers to very difficult situations. I've read it maybe 5 times and pieces of it over and over. It is tabbed from here to eternity!

One day I was so frustrated that I was embroiled in a heated battle with someone I had to see every week at our meeting. He knew just how to push my buttons. This type of situation was not new. I believed in fighting for what I thought was right. Try as I could, I couldn't resist a return barb. Disgusted with myself, I demanded of the Universe/aka/God that I be shown a way to overcome this and I needed it right NOW. From a big pile of books I picke up a book, Only Love. I flipped it open ... page 59...and laughingly groaned. "What You Can Learn from Others" was the chapter title. I applied it to my life and have not attracted the same situation or similar situation since I first read it over 2 years ago. I now buy it for others.

This is a book that will open heart,mind and spirit and change forever the life of the reader.A true disciple of P.Yogananda, in these pages, Sry Daya Mata,shows clearly what are the results of being trained by such an exalted being.Undoubtely a Mother of compassion,as Her name implies,Daya Mata gives the reader a glimpse of the divine nature of man and the entire cosmos,with humility and unparalled realization.One has the certainty that the Author is living what is preaching,which makes this book a rare gem of deep spiritual insights.A "must" for everyone that is truly searching.

It's the 3.5 Monster Manual but better. Cover looks fantastic and is of the highest quality. My only issue with the book is that it's so pretty I don't want to take it with me to gaming sessions for fear of it getting ruined.

Premum Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Monster Manual (w/ Errata) Review

The quality of the book is superb, and it does include a lot of the errata that is advertised. As other buyers have pointed out, however, it does not include *all* of the errata that is promised. In addition, I have noticed a few typos that could have been corrected before Wizards of the Coast sent the manuscripts to print. All in all, however, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I fully intend to purchase another copy or two for my players to paw through while I keep my "DM" set carefully preserved.

"Premium Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual" by Various
Published and distributed by Wizards of the Coast
ISBN = 978-0-7869-6144-0 320 pages

This is often called "Core Rulebook 3 v.3.5". Within its pages are the closest thing to perfection that the 3.5 rulebooks have ever had. In this Premium edition, all errata has been removed, if possible, and entries have been slightly altered to make rulings clearer.

There are seven major chapters in this volume:
1) Monsters A to Z
2) Animals
3) Vermin
4) Improving Monsters
5) Making Monsters
6) Monster Skills and Feats
7) Glossary

I'm not going to bore you with long descriptions of the chapters. But I will say that the Premium volume, with its semi-metallic cover, really stands out in my bookcases. The art is great, as usual for WotC, and is rarely out of place. The basics of what might be called "the ultimate D&D" are all included. In the back of the book are two pages of Monsters sorted by Challenge Rating. There is a really good Table of Contents, making it vary easy to find the creature you want.

Folks, if you play =any= 3.5 or D20 game, you should have a copy of this book. The Monster Manual contains the stats for all of the basic monsters - from the Aboleth to Zombies. Don't forget that things like cats and dogs are considered 'animals' and not monsters, and things like ants are considered 'vermin'. If you're a GM, you gotta love the monster creating chapters. Highly recommended.

About the Author
Chaim Bentorah has a B.A. in Jewish Studies from Moody Bible Institute, an M.A. in Old Testament and Hebrew from Denver Seminary, and a PhD in Biblical Archaeology. He studied advanced Hebrew under Dr. Earl S. Kalland, who was on the executive committee for the translation work of the New International Version of the Bible. Bentorah taught classical Hebrew and Old Testament for thirteen years at World Harvest Bible College, a division of LeSea, Inc. He presently teaches Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to lay Christian leaders and pastors in the Metro Chicago area and writes daily word studies on his blog at www.chaimbentorah.com. He speaks to church and parachurch groups about the nature and means of studying the Old Testament in the original Hebrew. He is convinced that any ChristianAnd#8212;regardless of age, educational background, or abilityAnd#8212;can study the Word of God in the original languages using the resources that are available today online and through electronic media, and he conducts classes in how to use these resources to their full advantage.

Just got it today and am already learning a lot like how to use Biblehub.com and StudyLight.com on the internet. Never knew these tools were available for Bible study and they are free. I am very happy with this book and the Kindle Hebrew Word Study: Beyond the Lexicon - both very easy to use. Hebrew is not an easy language but if you just want to use it for bible study these books and tools are great. Buy it and change your life!!!

Great Book

Just got the book and like all the author's other books am really enjoying it. Our walk with Messiah is all about relationship which is what the author's other devotional books are all about. I have gleaned many valuable relationship insights from these books and would highly recommend them all. This book tells you how to go about studying various Hebrew words for yourself. Great book.
