I'm Not Gay!

OMG, this book drove me nuts! Dylan is a total jackass through 90% of the story. I think if I heard "I'm not gay" one more time, I was going to scream. And Mike, who was gay but not out for work reasons, should have left Dylan in the dust in the beginning. But it did seem to work for them for the most part, as their issues seemed to work for each other, if that makes sense.

Aaron and Joey. I seriously do not remember Aaron being such a jerk to Dylan on such a consistant basis. As much as Dylan drove me crazy, I had to feel bad watching Aaron constantly putting him down or berating him. One of my favorite things about this book was watching the way Joey handles Aaron. He doesn't take his crap and has no problem putting him in his place.

Daryl was a bit of a bitch as well. Yes, I felt bad he was bashed, and even though he had bigger issues to explain his behavior, I still didn't think it was in any way acceptable.

Garrett and Tate, Mike's roommates, were two of my favorites as well. Tate was really sweet, though I was really worried for him after his Grindr pickup.

All in all, I guess I enjoyed the side characters here more than the MCs, but I liked that I didn't want to put it down until I knew how things would turn out, so this gets a solid 3.5 stars from me.

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!

I couldn't wait for this book to come out and it was everything that I wanted. I absolutely ADORED Collision Course and didn't think anything could top it. I was so wrong! I fell in love with Dylan and Mike practically from the start. It was hot and steamy from the beginning but it wasn't all about the sex. Right from the beginning you understood Dylan and felt for him. How could you not? I kept wanting to just wrap my arms around him and tell him everything was going to be alright. You just knew Mike would make everything better and boy did he! And best of all, we got to experience more of Joey! What could be better!

Hot, Emotional read

But My Boyfriend Is by K.A. Mitchell is the long awaited (at least of this reviewer) fourth installment of the Florida series. If you have read these books, you probably remember the younger twin brothers of Aaron from book two (Collision Course). Aaron's partner Joey always suspected one of the twins, Dylan, was checking him out, but Dylan always denied it and Aaron was sure his baby brother was straight. However, we readers always wondered.

Flash forward to three or four years later and Dylan has been living a double life and can't seem to pull himself outta the closet because he's convinced himself that he's bi because he wants a family. Not even his twin brother who knows everything about Dylan knows that he likes some male action at times. This double life of Dylan's has horrible consequences that he never imagined, but those consequences find his identical twin, Darrel, and not him. Dylan's life is flipped upside down when his book worm brother is attacked and almost beaten to death in the same park where Dylan goes to get his quick male tricks. As Dylan's world is crumbling, Darren's rescuer, Mike, is there to absorb some of the punch.

Mike didn't think saving a defenseless guy in the park would change his world, but it did and now he has to figure out a way to make this all work. Mike is a train for the University of Texas football team. While Mike has known he's gay for a while, he also knows that if he wants to live his dream, he can't let anyone know. But after meeting Dylan, and witnessing the awful violence that Darrel experienced, Mike realizes that playing on the down low also has consequences.

Dylan and Mike both have issues, and when you throw Dylan's family into the mix, things get crazy. However, out of all this drama comes a heartfelt story of love that is tested and bends, but never breaks. Ms. Mitchell does a good job capturing the realities that still face gay men in Texas and the hyper-macho world of college football. Hot, sexy men abound in this book, including a Puerto Rican and football playing cowboy. You just can't go wrong if you read this book to get your fill of sexy alphas!

A worthy addition to anyone's collection

Since at this point these books no longer need an introduction, I might as well go straight into the review of this edition, the Deluxe Pocked Boxed Set. It features leatherette covers, which are soft and very well made. The colors are less saturated than they are in Amazon's picture, but that is for the better. They are definitely nice and easy to hold, and the "stand" it comes with is sturdy and beautiful. I decided to put them in my desk, and they could not have gotten a better place. The only complaint that might arise is that the font is small, but that is to be expected from a "pocket" edition, and it is readable anyway. Overall, the quality of this edition is magnificent. If you are a fan, this relatively inexpensive set should definitely be added to your collection. If you haven't read the books, stop reading this and go buy them. Seriously. Now.

Very nice set of books for the price. Recommended. Read review and view pics for detail on font for pocket-sized "paperback."

Very nice books, binding seems nice. I love the covers although they are not "paperback" and are more of a fake leather material. These books are beautiful and very convenient. They are pocket-sized which is great for on the go, they aren't too small or too big (actually bigger than I anticipated which is a plus). The font size is readable, the only thing I would have to note is that the font size isn't the same throughout the different books. The font size seems to be based on the length of the books, the longer the books are, the smaller the font is (I suppose this was in order to keep them pocket-sized as well as consistent with the sizes of the other books throughout the set). If you have decent to good eyes, this set would be perfectly fine for you on the go but those people who don't have as good of eye sight, because I know some people who tend to get headaches while focusing on small font, this set may not be for you. I will upload some pics of the font comparisons, books, etc.

Great Book, *NOT* a leather binding

Only an balrog could object to an revised 50th anniversary edition, with corrections beyond those in the the standard revised version. BUT...

This is *not* a leather binding: it's a very ordinary hardcover edition with paper-thin faux leather glued over paper boards. The bookmark ribbon breaks the binding. Signatures glued rather than sewn together, not held together by the 'leather,' separated from paper spine. Poor production generally: end papers badly centered, more than a little random glue and rubber cement on the covers that really mars the appearance. Mine is the second printing, I do not see the poor type-setting complained of by other reviewers.

Look at Customer Image #18 to see for your self.

It's an OK one-volume edition, given the revisions and illustrations. *NOT* a 'collectible', barely worth the discounted $56 given the disappointment factor. *Don't* give this as a gift to a Tolkien fan, expecting rapture.

Calling this 'leather bound' is *serious* misrepresentation of the product.

In the Hebrew lust poems, which utilize biblical heroes, we can detect subtle, subversive, and surprisingly placed interpretations of biblical accounts.

Moving beyond the concern with literary history to challenge the traditional boundaries between secular and religious poetry, this book provides a new, multidisciplinary, approach to existing materials and will be of interest to students, scholars and researchers of Islamic and Jewish Studies as well as to those with an interest in Hebrew and Arabic poetry of Islamic Spain.
